How to Set Proxy for Google Chrome Multi?A Comprehensive Guide

Managing multiple Chrome profiles is essential for privacy and efficiency. Setting up proxies for each profile ensures they operate independently, reducing risks and improving performance. In this guide, we’ll break down the simple steps to configure proxies for Google Chrome Multi. Let’s get started!

1. Preparation

Before you start the setup, you need to do some preparation:

1. Proxy

The proxy is like an intermediary. The network request you send goes to the proxy IP first, and then it forwards it to the target server. In this way, the IP seen by the target server is the proxy IP. We need to find the required resources and obtain the proxy configuration parameters.

Of course, you can't just find one at random. There are free and paid proxy IPs on the market. You need to distinguish which ones are residential, which ones are computer rooms, which ones are pure and which ones are shared. Avoid using addresses with poor stability, slow speed, and blacklist risks. Therefore, for long-term and stable use, it is recommended to choose a reliable paid proxy IP service provider. Like the well-known IPFoxy proxy, I can use the static residential method to obtain connection information as follows. Stability and security are also guaranteed. You can get a trial first.

2. Use the latest Google to create a Multi-Profile

Google Chrome is updated frequently, and each update often fixes some security vulnerabilities, improves performance, and may also bring new features. Before setting up a separate IP for a clone, make sure that the browser is the latest version. Click the three-dot icon in the upper right corner, select "Help" in the drop-down menu, and then click "About Google Chrome". The browser will automatically check for updates, and then create a Multi-Profile as before.

2. How to configure Proxy with Multi-Profile

Method 1: SwitchyOmega (ZeroOmega) extension

1. Install this plug-in through the Google Plug-in Store, open the extension interface, and click "New Scenario Mode". You can give this new mode an easily recognizable name, such as "E-commerce Store 1 Agent" or "Social Media Account 2 Agent", etc., to facilitate subsequent distinction and management.

2. In the pop-up settings window, select the corresponding proxy type according to the proxy IP information obtained previously. Then, fill in the proxy address, port number, account number, and password we just copied accurately. After filling in, click "Apply Changes" to make the settings take effect.

3. If you have multiple accounts that require different independent IPs, follow the above steps to create multiple scenario modes repeatedly. You can also set each scenario mode once for each avatar, and so on. For example, if you have three TikTok accounts and need proxies in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada respectively, you can create three scenarios in sequence and configure the corresponding proxy information for each.

4. When you need to use a proxy IP, open Google Chrome, click the plug-in icon, and select the corresponding scenario mode in the drop-down menu. The browser will then access the Internet through the proxy you set.

Method 2: SessionBox extension

Sessionbox is a web account multi-opening tool that supports logging into multiple accounts at the same time in browsers such as Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Opera, etc. With this plug-in, you can open multiple browsers without even having to use multiple browser windows or using different browsers.

1. Also install this plug-in directly from the official browser plug-in store, and then you can open multiple sessions according to your account needs. Each session dialog box allows you to create multiple independent browsing sessions, and you can log in to different accounts at the same time.

2. Select Settings from the upper-left menu and switch to the Proxy tab.

3. Fill in the agent information you just obtained into the corresponding space and save it.

  1. Finally, the settings are completed. Next to the session that needs to bind this proxy, click the three dots-setting-other, click under Proxy and select the proxy information you just configured and saved to complete the binding.

Conclusion

I hope everyone can choose the appropriate method according to their actual needs, set up an independent IP for the Google Chrome clone, and start an efficient and secure network journey.
